1. Statue of Unity, Gujarat

  • Famous For : Statue of Unity is an iconic tourist attraction in the whole world and is famous because it is the world’s tallest statue with a height of 182 metres. It is a tribute to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He is the first Home Minister of independent India.
  • Timings : 08:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday. Closed on Monday. Light and sound show can be seen from 07:00 p.m. onwards daily except Monday.

Entry – Rs 120 + Rs 30(Bus Charges) for Adults, Rs 60 + Rs 30(Bus Charges) for children(3-15 years), Free for children below 3 years.

Observation Deckview – Rs 350 + Rs 30(Bus Charges) for Adults, Rs 200 + Rs 30(Bus Charges) for children(3-15 years), Free for children below 3 years.

  • Prohibited Items : You are not allowed to carry bag and any food items inside the premise. However, you are allowed to carry baby food and medicines.

Note : There is no locker facility available.

  • How to Reach : 

Nearest Airport and Railway Station is Vadodara International Airport and Vadodara Railway Station. From Vadodara Statue of Unity is 91 km.

Nearest town is Kevadia in Narmada district which is only 3.5 km from Statue of Unity.

You can also reach here by driving on State Highway 11 and 63.

2. Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram, Gujarat

  • How to Reach : Ashram is around 6 km from Ahmedabad railway station and 7.9 km from Ahmedabad International Airport i.e. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. You can take bus, taxi, cab or auto to reach Ashram.

3. Dwarkadhish Temple

  • Famous For : Dwarkadhish temple is located in Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gujarat and is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is also known as the Lord of Dwarka. It is one of the Char Dham sacred pilgrimage destinations of Hindus. People came here from different part of the world to take blessings from Lord Krishna.
  • Timings : From Monday to Sunday

In morning – 06:30 a.m. to 01:00 p.m.

In evening – 05:00 p.m. to 09:30 p.m.

  • Tickets : Free entry but for VIP darshan ticket varies from 300 to 2000.
  • How to Reach : Jamnagar airport is the nearest airport and it is around 126 km from temple. Dwarka railway station is the nearest railway station but you will find very few direct train that comes here.

4. Gir National Park

  • Famous For : Gir National Park is a Wildlife sanctuary in Gujarat and is also known as Sasan Gir and is famous for Asiatic Lions. People from all over the world come here and do safari to see Asiatic Lions.
  • Timings : 06:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday. Closed from 16th June to 15 October every year.
  • Gir Jeep Safari Details : Safari is organized by state forest department and it is for approximately 3 hrs. You have to book online from their website.

Timings :

From 16th October to 28/29 February

                  1. 06:45 a.m. to 09:45 a.m. and 08:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the morning.
                  2. 03:00 p.m. to 06:00 p.m. in the evening.

From 1st March to 15th June –

                  1. 06:00 a.m. to 09:00 a.m. and 08:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the morning.
                  2. 04:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m. in the evening.

Safari Charges : Rs 4700 for Indians and Rs 13800 for foreigners upto 6 adults and 1 children.

Note : Pickup and Drop facility from any hotel/resort have extra charges.

  • Best Time to Visit : Winters is the best time to visit i.e. from November to March.

5. Rann of Kutch

It is famous for its Rann Utsav or Rann of Kutch festival which was organized by Gujarat Tourism.   • Best Time to Visit : Winters are best time to visit rann of kutch i.e. from October to February as the temperature is pleasant during winters and you can enjoy the sightseeing.
  • How to Reach : Rann of Kutch is about 85 km from Bhuj. One can come by road, by air or by train.

Nearest Airport is Bhuj airport but there are no direct flights so you can board the flight from Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara to reach rann of kutch.

Nearest Railway Station is Bhuj Station which is around 104 km from rann of kutch. Bhuj Railway Station is very well connected and linked to many other major cities of the country.
